Trip to Rome: 1-10 Jul 2010

Hello everyone!

Thanks be to God! I’ve been recommended another travel agent, and now we have made lots of progress! The Rome trip is still on, and the details are as follows:

Dates: 1 Jul to 10 Jul 2010
Airline: Thai Airways
Accomodation: In a monastery in Rome and one night in a monastery in Sienna (meals provided)
Price: Approximately SGD$3500 (It might be even lower if you pray hard enough)
Minimum number of people required: 30

The purpose of the trip is threefold:

  1. Immersion into Latin and the Sacred Traditions of Holy Mother Church (Educational)
  2. A kind of retreat (Spiritual)
  3. Partially a holiday tour (Recreational)

Unlike most tour packages, we will not be rushing from place to place. Rather, we have arranged it such that there will be plenty of time to soak up the awesome-ness of Rome and the Churches and artwork there. There will be time to pray and reflect, as well as to learn more about the lives and deaths of the many ancient Roman martyrs (as we retrace their footsteps), and much more.

We shall also be going to Siena – known famously as the land of the saints, and to another place in Italy (at the moment, I forgot what the place is called) where an Eucharistic miracle took place.

Also, we shall be singing the Divine Office in both English and Latin, as well as the Rosary each day. There will be one day where we shall be praying the stations of the Cross.

It promises to be a very spiritually edifying and fruitful trip.

So do let me know if you are interested. Priority will first be given to students of the Latin classes, but I think there’s still enough space for more people.
